Often known as the Christmas Box plant, the Sarcococca has sweetly scented pure-white flowers in December and March. A dense winter-flowering evergreen shrub, perfect for shady borders and corners. Plant Sarcococca confusa in an area where you can appreciate the wonderful vanilla-like fragrance in the winter months. Sarococca copes well with urban pollution and dry shade. The Sweet Box plant is extremely tolerant of shade and is therefore perfect for growing in a woodland border, a shady corner, or near a path where you can enjoy its heady fragrance throughout winter.
Grow Sarcococca confusa in moist but well-drained soil in sun or shade. It will grow in chalk, clay, loam, and sand.
Sarcococca Christmas Box care: In late winter or early spring lightly trim or prune back shoots that spoil the plant’s shape. After pruning apply a generous 2-3inches of mulch of well-rotted compost around the base of the plant.
The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos.
