Description
A climber, the Mermaid rose has a light fragrance with delightful open single blooms of primrose yellow. Their gorgeous golden stamens carry on giving charm after the petals have fallen. With reddish thorny stems and glossy almost-evergreen leaves, this lovely rose blooms through the summer into autumn.
The Mermaid rose is happy in most well-drained soils and although it likes the sun, it can be grown successfully on a sheltered north wall. This climbing rose can reach a height and spread of about 6m x 6m. It provides nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects. It resents pruning so do nothing except prevent it from going where it shouldn’t.
