A hardy tree with lovely flowers that can withstand late frosts. They have a spreading growth habit and are heavy croppers. Homegrown, this apple will surprise you they really do deserve the name Delicious. Its pink blossoms come in spring and fruits heavily in late October with good autumn foliage. Golden Delicious store well in cool dry conditions, often right through the winter months.
Crisp flesh bursts with sweet juice and a great aroma. Although they are an eating apple, they can also be used in cooking and are good in salads because the cut fruit takes a long time to turn brown.
They need a sheltered position and prefer sun but can be planted in partial shade in fertile well drained soil. They do need another apple or crab apple tree to cross pollinate. Resistant to most common diseases. Prune in the late autumn and winter after the leaves have fallen.

Symbolism Apple, domestica The apple has very similar associations with the quince. From Adam and Eve to the present day the apple has long been a symbol of love and romance, together with peace and happiness. In some legends, apples were the food of the gods and in the Celtic tradition apples were said to grow in Paradise.
The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos. To find out more information, please visit our Delivery & Returns page.
