Camellia Lavinia Maggi has large formal double flowers that should bloom from February to April. The overlapping petals are white with irregular cerise-pink stripes and are very beautiful. The Lavinia flower grows to a height from 2.5m – 4m with a spread of 2.5m – 4m.

RHS advice
Cultivation: Suitable for woodland and acidic soils. Position in a site sheltered from cold, dry winds and early morning sun as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds and late frosts.
Propagation: Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings.
Suggested planting locations and garden types: Flower borders and beds cut flowers, low maintenance, Wall-side borders, city & courtyard gardens, cottage & informal garden, patio & container plants
Pruning: Can be pruned after flowering to the shape one requires.

Garden care: Protect the emerging buds and the Lavinia flowers from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mold. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant.
