Camellias like an ACID moist well-drained humas rich soil (Use ericaceous compost for container-grown trees) Fully hardy but should be planted in partial shade, (not east facing) protected from cold dry winds and early morning sun.
Care should be taken to prevent damage to emerging buds and flowers by cold winds and early morning frost. Water plants in dry weather to prevent buds from dropping.
