The Pear Calleryana is very popular, especially as a street tree, particularly in Britain, Europe and America. Fairly fast growing, this pear has a slender branched habit with a wonderfully formed crown giving an attractive outline all year round.
A strong medium sized tree with clouds of beautiful white flowers in spring, with lovely shiny green leaves in summer and continuing to give pleasure in the autumn when the leaves turn to glorious reds and purple. In mild winters the leaves can remain until Christmas.
It is an easy to grown tree, tolerates pollution and is resistant to diseases and fire blight. It is also fairly resistant to salt winds for those who would like to plant trees near the sea.
The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos. To find out more information, please visit our Delivery & Returns page.
