Description

Broom with its gorgeous butter yellow fragrant pea-like flowers and slender green shoots give much pleasure and brighten up our lives in late spring and early summer.

An upright growth reaching a height of 1 to 1.5metres with long arching stems with ovate deciduous 3 palmate green foliage.

They are well-suited to shrubberies, mixed borders and small gardens. A useful plant, it is drought resistant and thrives on poor acid soil, avoid planting on shallow chalk soils. Prune back about half their length after flowering to maintain a good shape. Broom resent transplanting so plant in a chosen spot.
