It has yellow-green catkins which appear in spring and delicate bright green leaves which turn a gentle yellow in autumn. A classic native tree who’s pale bark can be seen across the British landscape.

Description
A beautiful slender medium-sized tree with distinctive silver bark and delicate weeping branches, the Silver Birch is one of the first to leaf in spring. Small delicate light green leaves turn a soft yellow in autumn.
The Silver Birch tree is a symbol of purity and is a striking tree – guaranteed to enhance any landscape. Classically known as the Lady of the Wood and a tree of Enchantment in many traditional fairytales.
Betula pendula whilst fully hardy they prefer sun or semi-shade, and will grow in most well-drained soils.
