The Christmas Pippin is a superb eating apple with a sweet crisp juicy flavour. A round-shaped apple flushed scarlet over pale green & yellow skin with heavy cropping in October. This Pippin apple tree has a pretty shape with a tall trunk, becoming gnarled with age. Christmas Pippin apple tree has a glorious display of blossom in spring, opening white from pink buds followed by green oval leaves.

This tree has a pretty shape with a tall trunk, becoming gnarled with age. A glorious display of blossom in spring, opening white from pink buds followed by green oval leaves.
Often described as the ”new Cox”, Christmas Pippin is fast-growing and fully hardy and prefers deep rich loamy soil. A small tree reaching approx. 1.8m x 1.8m and suitable for in a small garden or large container.

History: The Christmas Pippin tree was originally found close to the M5 motorway in Somerset by Geffrey Rowson in 2003. It is assumed that the seedling grew because there were old orchards previously there.
