This flowering cherry almond ‘Spring Glow’ is a beautiful self-fertile tree giving much pleasure on cold grey days in early to mid-spring. A spreading deciduous tree, it has a glorious display of long-lasting deep pink single flowers on bare purple branches followed by lance-shaped, tapered green leaves which develop into wine red and golden orange colour well into autumn. This almond tree has insignificant small spherical fruit that appears in summer.
Flowering cherry almond trees are a low maintenance, vigorous, vase-shaped tree, with a rounding canopy and arching branches as they age. It prefers moist, well-drained fertile soil, chalk, sand, clay, and loam. Plant this almond blossom in full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position, east, west, or south facing.

History: Developed in Australia in the early 20th century. Although similar species have been known since the 16th century. A hybrid between a prunus dulcis (Almond tree) and a prunus persica (Peach tree) It has a different habit and flower shape to either of them and is not susceptible to peach leaf curl which is a bonus.
The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos.
