Yew Tree

Yew (Taxus baccata) is a handsome native evergreen with dense, dark green foliage that provides colour and structure throughout the year. Naturally slow-growing and easy to shape, it is an excellent choice for traditional hedging, screening, topiary or as a striking specimen tree.

Yew grows well in sun or shade and suits most well-drained soils, including chalky ground. Once established, it is hardy, long-lived and wonderfully low-maintenance. Its thick foliage also offers valuable shelter for garden birds and other wildlife.
