Pear Tree ~ Cornish Gold

Pear ‘Cornish Gold’ is a rare, self-fertile variety producing firm, golden pears with a deliciously mellow, sweet flavour when fully ripe. Excellent for eating fresh, the fruit is also particularly good for juicing, cooking and preserving.

Pretty white flowers appear in spring, usually around April, followed by pears ready to harvest in late September. The fruit stores well and can often be enjoyed into November.

On Pyrodwarf rootstock, the tree can reach approximately 3–5 metres when fully grown, depending on soil, growing conditions and pruning. Hardy and reliable, it is well suited to exposed gardens and can tolerate poorer, acidic soils.
