Native Alder

The Native Alder has glossy, rounded green leaves and grey-brown bark, with delicate catkins appearing before the leaves in early spring. Little woody cones decorate the branches through winter, giving birds something to forage for.

Hardy and fast-growing, it makes a useful windbreak and thrives in damp or wet soil. Water well while it settles in, and give it plenty of room to grow.
