Magnolia Stellata

The Magnolia Stellata is a distinct and charming small tree or shrub. One of the earliest magnolias to bloom, buds opening into beautiful fragrant star shaped white flowers in early spring.

This is called the 'Royal Star'.

Hardy and can be kept in containers or in a fairly sunny sheltered space in the garden. They need a sunny or partial shady sheltered spot and prefer a neutral to acid fertile, well-drained soil. They will tolerate most soils provided it is humus rich. Plenty of organic matter should be dug into the soil before planting. During its youth, weed, mulch and compost in spring.
