Description
Crab Apple Wedding Bouquet is a very pretty crab apple and a wonderful addition for any garden and excellent for a smaller garden or large pot! A glorious froth of single ivory-white flowers appears in Spring as the bright green tapered leaves start to unfurl. In late summer, clusters of translucent dark red fruit appear which remain until well into December. Malus Wedding Bouquet is the perfect tree for a small to medium garden. It is a haven for wildlife, from pollinating insects in spring to birds who feast on the crab apples in autumn.
Wedding Bouquet is a charming bushy tree and easy to grow and disease resistant.
All Crab Apple trees are self-fertile and will thrive in city gardens and are helpful for pollution. To please them, do give them a sunny position to encourage the best display of blossom and fruit. Very accommodating, they are happy in most soil types including clay.
When planting, incorporate well-rotten compost into a planting hole. Remember to stake firmly. Light pruning in winter, removing any dead or diseased branches.
An added asset is they are generally a good pollinator for domestic apples which is very useful when space is a factor.
