The blossom of the Sunset Boulevard remains longer than most other cherries. The fresh green leaves have a slight bronze tint and develop into vibrant green shade in the summer. It moves to wonderful shades of scarlet, orange and yellow in the autumn.  A tough strong growing tree, tidy in shape it makes a lovely garden tree, loved by bees and local fauna.

Like all cherries, this deciduous tree prefers well drained soil, growing on chalk, clay, sand and loam. They need full sun with an aspect of north, south, east and west facing and will grow in both sheltered and exposed areas.

History: Bred at the Kalmthout Arboretum in Belgium in the 1980s with the intention of it being used in an urban environment Sunset Boulevard has been introduced into Britain as a street tree as it has a tidy compact shape and crown and is helpful in combating pollution.
