Description

The Osmanthus burkwoodii is a lovely evergreen with wonderfully scented jasmine-like flowers in spring with a few black fruits in autumn. Ideal for planting near your house or patio. Low maintenance and largely pest free.

Slow to medium growth but worth the wait. Osmanthus burkwoodii likes full sun or semi-shade in all aspects exposed or sheltered. Plant in well-drained soil. Chalk, Clay, Loam, or Sand.

Not recommended for cold areas such as North East England and colder parts of Scotland.

 

Garden care: Minimal pruning is required. Remove misplaced, dead, or diseased branches in late spring and apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant.

Cultivation: Osmanthus is low maintenance – Full sun, partial shade, avoid cold winds

Soil: Moist, well drained. Chalk, Clay, Loam or Sand

Aspect:  North, East, South or West facing

Foliage:  Evergreen

Flowering White flowers in spring

Fruiting Autumn

Habit: Rounded habit

Delivery & Returns

The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.

Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos.
