Possibly the most beautiful hardy weeping tree in the British Isles. The golden weeping willow is a hybrid with the white willow, introduced around 1800 as a hardier species more suitable to Britain than the Salix babylonica. A medium-sized fast growing wide spreading tree with arching branches terminating in slender golden-yellow branchlets of lanceolate leaves appear in spring and remain on the tree until late in the year Catkins appear in April, usually both male and female flower in the same catkin. They prefer sun and will grow well in all but dry soil. The shoots can be cut back fairly hard in early spring once every two or three years. Height in maturity. 15m x 10m / 50ft x 30ft Planted next to water, the weeping willow posess wondrous beauty with its waving cascades of leaves and reflections.

The tree is watered before carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos. To find out more information, please visit our Delivery & Returns page.
