Freedom Bell is an erect evergreen shrub with lovely semi-double, funnel-shaped, bright red flowers from late winter. Usually flowering abundantly from January to March. A shrub/tree with a vigorous growth giving much pleasure during the gloomy months.
Camellias like an ACID moist well-drained humas rich soil (Use ericaceous compost for container-grown trees) Fully hardy but should be planted in partial shade, (not east facing) protected from cold dry winds and early morning sun.
Care should be taken to prevent damage to emerging buds and flowers by cold winds and early morning frost. Water plants in dry weather to prevent buds from dropping. (Do not over water) Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top dress annually with well- rotted leaf mould or with something similar. Nip off dead flowers…
Pruning is not necessary but if need, trim lightly after flowering.

The tree is watered before being carefully packed by one of our experienced staff on site. It comes in a cardboard box lined with straw. (We try to use as much recycling material as possible) The box is addressed to the customer or a specified name and address and sent out overnight delivery to arrive on requested dates.
Please note the size of the tree that you are ordering, as our trees are provided for our clients to plant themselves, which may appear at a small size rather than the fully grown tree as shown in the photos. To find out more information, please visit our Delivery & Returns page.
